The change from Gonzalo Castro to VfB is nearing completion. The 31-year-old was spotted in Stuttgart on Thursday evening and is said to be present at the start of training on Monday. The former international had no future in Dortmund.

No, Gonzalo Castro will not take care of the controversial construction of Stuttgart 21. The 31-year-old was spotted at Stuttgart Central Station on Thursday evening – to join  VfB  . In Dortmund, the central midfielder is no longer in demand, Castro brings the Swabians a lot of Bundesliga experience.

The former international played 358 games (five international matches) for Bayer Leverkusen and  BVB  . Now more are to be added at VfB Stuttgart. According to the  information, the  change is already fixed . Castro is getting out of his contract in Dortmund, which runs until 2020, and VfB is paying a fee of five million euros for the veteran. Already on Monday, at the start of training with the obligatory performance check, Castro should be there alongside  returnee Daniel Didavi  .

The midfielder had no future at BVB. In the last six season games of the past season, he was no longer used. The new coach Lucien Favre should plan without him. And with new signing Thomas Delaney, a dream player for Castro's position has already arrived.

Only replacement at BVB: Castro wants to play an important role at VfB.

In Stuttgart, on the other hand, he was welcomed with open arms. Sports director Michael Reschke knows Castro from their time together in Leverkusen, where he made the leap to the professionals as a teenager. Reschke is considered a big fan of the 31-year-old.

VfB invited to a press conference on Friday afternoon. Probably to officially announce the deal with BVB and Castro.
