Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly interested in signing Manchester City's midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne and have contacted his agent Patrick De Koster in order to facilitate the move.

According to City Watch, president Florentino Perez and manager Zinedine Zidane are looking to strengthen their squad in the summer and while they have informed the Belgians agent of their interest, they are yet to make a formal offer.

De Bruyne though has reitirated his desire to stay with City for the time being and unless he changes his mind at the last minute, he is set to sign a new contract with them that will ensure that his future is with them.

Should Madrid pursue the deal, French giants Paris Saint-Germain who put up a serious fight to sign him during his time at Wolfsburg would also be tempted to make him part of their project.

The 26-year-old has been in brilliant form for the Citizens this season, scoring five goals and registering 10 assists in all competitions this season. His performances have led many to call him the best midfielder in the world at the moment, with the Belgian leading the club to the top of the table in the Premier League.
